Word 2003 question

J

Joy

Each month I make a mini-flyer in Word 2003 for our cancer organization,
just doing a Save As from the previous month, then changing the name of the
speaker, subject, date, etc. This month when I changed the subject, it is
cutting off the tops of the letters. It's as if there were a text box, but
there isn't one! Is there anyone I could send this to directly so you can
see what I'm talking about and then tell me what to change? Thanks.

You can send it to me. My email address is my name (firstlast) at g m a i l
dot c o m, without the spaces, of course.

Hi, Joy,

The problem is that the line in question is using Exact line spacing of 12
and a font that is 18.

In May, the line in question was formatted at 12 points. In June, it was
increased to 18 points. Ordinarily, that would be fine, except that the line
in question is also formatted with Line spacing set to Exactly 12 points.
The result is that there isn't room for the tops of the letters.

To see this, select the line that has the letters cut off and look at the
Paragraph settings (Format - Paragraph). Under Spacing, Line spacing: is
Exactly at 12 points. If you set the line spacing to Single, it will solve
the cut-off problem. Here, it looks like the flyer still fits after doing
that. If not, then you could delete one of the paragraph marks above that
line (you could use the Paragraph dialog to add maybe 6 points of spacing
before the Naturopathic... line if deleting on of the empty paragraphs
crowds the Naturopathic line too much).
