That error message is probably not very accurate for
what's really going on. Insufficient memory errors
represent a bunch of different problems; some of them
saving, some of them actually memory management related.

Can you save locally okay (I assume so)? Can you then
copy the document over to the network? If that's the
case, then the problem must lie with the network.

The reason being is that Word uses about 10 different
temporary files
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;211632&Product=wd2002). Most good network
administrators will lock down their networks so that bad
things don't happen. Unfortunately, using temp files (as
Word does) is often interpreted as being "bad" by the
server. Sometimes it's antivirus software, other times
it's simply a matter of permissions.

This is the same reason you shouldn't save to a CDRW.
Even though you might get away with it sometimes, the
complexity of how documents are put together just doesn't
allow for such dynamic saving.

I'm sorry I can't be more specific about a solution -
I've always just referred people to their network admins
in hopes that they can figure out what permissions need
to be changed. Maybe this article will give you some
helpful information:

HTH!
