Word 2003 - Tabs (?) or header functions on toolbar don't open or

"File," View, Edit, Insert, Format, etc... will not open or work at all.
This just happened this morning.

Other toolbars work, functions work, i can save w/ the save button.

I have not adjusted the template. It is launched on the company network, not
in my local machine.

My computer specs:
XP SP2, Word 2003 SP2.
RAM 2 Gb.

The usual problem is that the menu bar is missing entirely, not that the
menus are nonfunctional, but the cause may be the same. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/MissingMenusEtc.htm (note that it might
suffice to Reset the Menu Bar in Tools | Customize | Toolbars).
