Word 2003 takes a long time to display doc from website

Hi!

We are encountering a strange problem. We have documents on our website. When I try to open that document from the website (it is a https://), it takes a long time (6-10mins) for the doc to show. I get the Open/Save option as soon as I click on the link and I can save the doc to my harddisk and open it fine, but if I click on the open button, it takes for ever to show up. If I check the temp internet files folder, the doc has downloaded there almost instantaneously, but word 2003 keeps doing something after that before it show the doc. This exact functionality is working fine on Word 97, 2000 and 2002. We had this problem in Word 2002, but applying the lastest office updates fixed it.

I have Word 2003 Pro (11.6113.5703). I have applied all the Office updates. I have also tried renaming the normal.dot, moving add-ins from startup folders and renaming registry keys to no avail. I tried running file and registry monitor, but couldn't make much out of it. Need help desperately!

Thank you for the reply. I tried this and even rebooted the Pc after this, but the problem still persists. Thanks again for all your help!
