Word 2003 Taskpane

All - upgraded from office 2002 --> office 2003 and now the word 2003
taskpane always stays on (even if you untick under options/view) -
Excel/PPT/Access are ok.
Interestingly, another machine had a fresh install and all is ok so I am
presuming this is a know issue...can anyone shed any light?

There's a Registry hack available for the task pane which disregards
the view option. I know Adobe used this as an effort to workaround
another issue caused by add-ins which dismissed the task pane at
startup. Anyway, here's an add-in you can use to control the task
pane:
