Word 2003 text corruption when scroll with wheel

When scrolling up and down through a word document using
the wheel, some of the lines of text do not get redrawn
properly. Sometimes they appear twice, sometimes only
half the text appears. This happens to at least one whole
line.

Does anyoone know how to fix this?

Its is possible that you might be low on system resources, which causes the
slow redraw time on text in the document. Do you have multiple documents or
programs open? Sometimes the best you can do in these cases to restart the
application or the operating system or close some of the programs.

Hi, Alan,

This sort of behavior can be caused by a poorly written video driver
or printer driver (Word uses both to lay out the screen). Check the
manufacturers' web sites for updates.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I think I am pretty up-to-
date. I have a sapphire radeon 9200se 128MB video card,
for which I have upgraded the BIOS and drivers recently,
and a HP Officejet G55 which is up to date with the
software I think. I will check this and get back.

Yes I do have the latest drivers for the HP, 3.10 from
jan 2003.

Any other suggestions?

Hi again

I slowed my graphics adapter down to 4X and rebooted, the
problem appeared to go away, but the display was
infuriatingly slow. I turned it up to 8X again and turned
all accelerator functions back on and the problem has not
yet reappeared. It may have been a corruption in the
adapter settings! If it happens again, I will post again.
If anyone has another suggestion, reply.

Cheers
Alan
