word 2003 will not open

I recently upgraded to Word 2003. But now Word will not open at all.
Sometimes it will open in 'safe mode' but this is not everytime. I have tried
the 'detect and correct errors in installation" on the installation CD but it
did not help at all.
Can someone help?
