word 2003 won't save documents

In the last week's since I fear one of Microsofts
innumerable downloads, Word 2003 will no longer safe
documents..

Application will inevitable crash or not respond when
trying to save.

A royal pain..

This isn't Word but a third party add-in that is incompatible. See the
