Word 2003

I open word 2003 (sp2) paste a screen dump.
The screen dump does not display unless I do a print preview. I close the
preview and the screen is white again???????
If I click on the picture, it will select it...
I have all of the service packs and updates and all that stuff.
I have an HP5100, with the integrated Intel 82915 adaptor with current
drivers.
Any ideas?
