Word 2004 11.5.0 crashes when Print... Is selected

I have a really horrible situation on my hands.

Since the recent Word 2004 11.5.0 update on my PowerBook G4 with 2GB of
memory, OS X 10.4.11, almost every time I select Print...
From Word¹s File Menu, it pauses for a second or two, the spinning progress
wheel does not spin and then it crashes.

I do not get the opportunity to make any choices in the Print dialog window
before the crash.

Approximately once every 10 crashes, it will spin the progress wheel and
then a small preview of the document is presented, at which time I can
print.

I deleted normal.dot and trashed all preferences and still this happens.

Please help me, I am at my wits end, I am about to purchase a Laptop PC with
Windows XP and Word 2007 to solve this problem.

More information.

As consistent as this crashing was, I quit Entourage and restarted Word and
now cannot get the print... To crash Word, no matter what I do. I restarted
Entourage and still cannot get Word to crash. All I can say it, this is
really freaky weird.

Hi Richard -

I'm glad the situation has improved, but it sounds to me as though you
didn't repair permissions after applying the 11.5 update. It's also possible
that you need to check for an update to your printer driver.

Any major updates to either the OS, drivers or complex applications need to
be followed by that and [IMHO] a restart of the Mac.

Thanks for pointers, I will look at the Permissions and as for the printer
driver and a restart,
1) I have restarted
2) Printer driver is just peachy.
