Hi,
I'm running Word 2004 in my Macbook with Leopard 10.5.2. (localized portuguese version). In a scientific paper I'm writing (now 10 pages long) with EndNote 10.0.2 formatted citations, every time I try to insert an accented character (e.g., mãe), Word freezes. I already did a clean new install of Office, after removing the previous installation with the Office uninstaller, and removing all vestiges of Office in my computer, reinstalled EndNote, fixed user permissions, everything I can remember. I thing this is not an EndNote problem (the problem persists, even if I uninstall EndNote and use an unformatted version of the document).
However, if I open the document with Pages and export it back to Word, things behave normally in Word now, but I loose the possibility of formatting the previous citations with EndNote.
Any ideia about what is happening here? Thanks.

I'm gonna guess corrupted document, since the export/reimport via Pages
fixes it. Try the fixes here:
http://word.mvps.org/Mac/DocumentCorruption.html

I believe that if you Unformat the EndNote Citations, the raw fields
should survive the corruption fixes, but I haven't tested it myself. If
Procedure 1 wipes them out, try Procedure 2.

To prevent it corrupting again, you might try uninstalling the EndNote
CWYW plug-in (keep EN loaded, just remove the plug-in), and just use
copypaste/drag'n'drop to enter the raw EndNote fields into the document.
