Word 2007 and email

Whenusing word 2007 under Vista the option to send to email is greyed out. We
are using the Windows vista Windows Mail as email client. Is that not
recognised by Office 2007? Or is there something I need to set so it will see
it?
Email is working fine - just the Send to email as an attachment option in
the Word 2007 menu is greyed out.

If you go to control panel->internet options and set Outlook as the default
mail handler, okay out and then go back and make windows mail the default,
does it work then?

Thanks for the suggestion, but under Vista there is no Outlook. WE have
chosen to not install Outlok 2007 but rather just to use Windows Mail under
Vista. (That's the new replacement for Outlook Express). And using IE7 under
Vista you can go to tools, programs, and "set default programs". That already
has Windows Mail as the default - or so it seems. (We are still learning
about Vista).

Follow on: as far as I can tell all the places that default programs can be
set are set to Windows Mail as the default email programme. Outlook is not
on the computer, hence not an option to select.

I don't know if Windows Mail is a full or simple MAPI client, or if it uses
MAPI at all. If it doesn't then you cannot use it for sending mail from
Office applications. Probably best to follow-up in a Windows Mail group.

Have solved with help from another discussion -- needed to install "Outlook
MAPI Service Providers" from the Office installation CD. All OK now.
