Word 2007 and Vista Save option

Opened a Word 2007 attachment from Hotmail. Did some amending, clicked Save
and closed Word. Subsequently document nowhere to be found!

Repeating the process but selecting Save As prompts for filename with
default file location for the user...

Puzzling - any ideas what happened to the original Save docx?
