Word 2007 book fold printing images in wrong place

Hello,

I'm having a problem with Word's book fold option and wondering if
anybody has had the same (and possibly has a solution!).

Example, four page booklet. When printing, the first sheet has page 1
on the right, and page 4 on the left, as it should. But any graphics
I place on page 1 incorrectly print over the material on page 4. They
don't print on page 1 where they should.

I've tried printing to PDF, using different printers, etc., but it
still happens. I actually remember this problem in Word 2003 as well,
but I can't test it at the moment.

Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks,
Walt Rice

Unfortunately, quite a few people have reported this problem. So far I
haven't seen a good solution.

If the document is not too large, save it in PDF format and print from Adobe
Reader. Adobe will print it as a single signature.

Another alternative is to save it back to .DOC format (Word 97-2003).
This may cause some changes in formating, but the pictures will print
correctly.

Dear A.O.,

I was already printing to PDF to deal with the image misplacement
(often I can re-position it with the object tool). It also helps when
I have to do multiple duplex copies, because Word still sucks at that.

As for the images, the old .DOC format works perfectly in my case,
problem solved (for now)!

Thanks so much,

I have found a solution to the problem. Perhaps you have also found a
solution by this time. I believe there is a glitch in the Word 2007 program
but there is a very, very easy solution to the problem. To print a four page
booklet......
Set your pages up individually ex. 5.5 x 8.5 with appropriate margins
Then complete your document
DO NOT CHOOSE booklet in the page set up "multiple pages"
This is not necessary in Word 2007 (for some unexplained reason)
When ready to print simply go to the print menu and select properties
In properties select booklet printing AND THEN select duplex printing AND
THEN go back to booklet printing. This somehow resets the booket printing
icon to work properly. Now the only thing you have to do is set the "Scale
to paper size" to letter. So just to review, booklet printing in the "print
menu" now reads, A4, Plain paper, Normal, Left Edge Booklet, Letter.
Graphics now print properly and I print a weekly booklet that is anywhere
from 4 single sheets (5.5 x 8.5) to 24 single sheets and it produces a
beautiful and correct booklet.

This is an option for you because your printer driver has a booklet-printing
feature, which will not be available to all users. Anything in printer
Properties is supplied by the printer driver and is not part of Word.
