Word 2007 - Cannot use templates except in Safe Mode

I have a user that cannot type in text in her Msoft provided templates unless
she starts Word in Safe Mode. Also, when we choose Word Options, we cannot
change anything in the menu area or choose any additional options. It does
however work in Word Safe Mode.
I have already reinstalled, verified the latest updates, went through
support article: 921541 on knowledgebase. I have also renamed the Normal.dotm
as well.

Ideas??

The menus are not greyed out when you click on them. They all appear to be
working until you try to click on them and nothing happens. We are just stuck
on the first option page and cannot click on anything else. We can change the
name of the user and the initials but to choose "add-ins' for example does
not work. You just double click and nothing happens.
I already tried the registry deletion of the Data folder however that did
not work either.

Found Out that there was an add-in for Laserfiche. I was unable to get to it
in Normal Start up mode however in Safe Mode I was able to uncheck it and
tada. Now things work just like they are supposed to.

Looking at add-ins was going to be my next suggestion.

Anyway, I'm glad you got it sorted.
