Word 2007 crashes on close

When I open word and close it, it crashes. When I open word in safe
mode (winword /a) and close it does not crash. I have reinstalled
word several times. How can i fix this?

Try working through the troubleshooting steps at
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ProblemsStartingWord.htm .
If the problem goes away when Word is in safe mode, then it
usually means the problem is caused by a damaged Normal.dotm
template or a malfunctioning/incompatible add-in, and
reinstalling Word will not fix the problem.

Also, if you let the Microsoft Office updates run with Word open, it may
have corrupted the Word Data Key in the registry. There's plenty of other
posts covering this one.
