Word 2007 - Default folder for images

When I go to insert an image into my document W2007 always defaults to some God-awful place and I have to painfully navigate to where I keep the images for that document.

Is there some way to get it to behave in a more user-friendly fashion, such as opening up at the same folder as the document, or remembering the last place that was used and opening there?
