Word 2007 displaying top while typing

I am running on a desk top under Vista Business: when I am typing the cruser
stays on the line but the view scrolls to the top of the document so I am no
longer able to see what I am typing. I then have to stop typing and manualy
move the page down.

I used to encounter that problem frequently, but I believe it must have been
fixed by an Office update, because it does not seem to happen anymore. What
version of Word are you running?

To find out, click the Office button - Word Options - Resources tab - About.
I'm running Word 2007 (12.0.6311.5000) SP1 (12.0.6320.5000).

If you see numbers lower than these, run Windows Update (I assume you've set
it up to retrieve Office updates as well), and see if the problem goes away.

Herb,
I have tried both of these sugestions and tried other computers with other
monitors and still had the problem. I have also been able to reproduce it.
It happens when I am in web view and at the end of the line and start to type
a word which wraps around and I am 2/3 of the way down in the document. As it
wraps around the curser remains on the line where I was typing but my view on
the monitor is the beginning of the page. If I backspace it takes me back to
the line where I am typing. If I am in draft view this does not happen, but I
have seen it in the normal view also but in this view the problem is
intermittened. I don't see this in earlier versions of Word either.Hope this
clarifies the problem more.

I've tried, and while I used to see the identical thing here -- constantly
to the point of complete maddening distraction -- I can't get it to happen
anymore. In fact, it used to happen when composing a long Outlook email, as
well. But, it doesn't occur in Outlook anymore, either. I guess I'm out of
things to suggest.

I see the same problem in Compatibility Mode. I have my Word window small so
that I can see other windows on my screen. When I get to the bottom and the
line should wrap the view defaults to the top of the document rather than
scroll down to show my current line. It doesn't matter if I'm typing at the
bottom of my document or somewhere in the middle. I have the latest version
of Word. This is the first time I've noticed this happening, but I think this
is the first time I've used Word in Compatibility Mode with a window that is
not maximized.
