Word 2007 fails to open

Running a Lenovo laptop and desktop - Vista Ultimate - 32 bit.

Word 2007 crashes frequently when either opening fresh or opening an
existing document - it fails to open.
Message is..Microsoft Office Word has stopped working. Windows is collecting
more information about the problem....
This issue is intermittent and generaly be solved by restarting.
Is this a common problem (since I have it on 2 computers)? Any fix available?

Usually this is caused by a third party add-in, a corrupt normal.dot or
either a corrupt or missing printer driver. See the following FAQ for more
