Word 2007 Footer Question

Hello,

We upgraded to Office 2007 and trying to do the following in a Large
Document...

Have a Large Doc that would like to Start the Numbering on the 6th page
(with 1...2...3...) and want "No" numbering on the first 6 pages...

Think it has to be a "Section" thing but it keeps Numbering ALL Sections...

Any help would be great...

Yes, it's a section thing...
1. Delete any page numbers you've inserted thus far.
2. Replace the page break between pages 5 and 6 with a next-page
section break (keyboard shortcut Alt+I,B,Alt+N or click on Page
Layout | Breaks: Next Page). This puts the first five pages in
section 1, and pages 6 thru whatever in section 2.
3. Click somewhere in section 2.
4. Click on Insert | Header (or Footer, depending on where you
want the page numbers) | Edit Header (or Footer), and turn off
"Link to previous" in section 2.
5. Insert the page number formatted to start at 1.

Oops... just noticed I slightly misread your question. To skip
numbering on the first 6 pages, put the section break between
pages 6 and 7, not between 5 and 6.
