word 2007 Freezes

The problem occurs when focus is lost in the current document. Anytime the
cursor moves outside the document, it freezes and I can't scroll or select.
This eliminates the ability to cut and paste. The only way to clear it is to
close word and re-enter the document. Does anyone know why this is
happening and how to fix it?

I found the problem. I removed add-ins until the problem went away. It
works great now.
