I am supporting a commercial application that provides for editing of legal
documents. When opening many of the 40 or so documents in Word 2007, Word
unceremoniously hangs and must be killed via task manager. This happens every
time for some of our documents, especially those more than a few pages long.
If the documents are opened in Word 2003 and saved as .docx documents using
the compatibility pack then Word 2007 reads them fine.
Is there someone at Microsoft to whom I can send copies of some of the
problemmatic files so that the .doc handling in Word can be fixed and this
problem resolved. I can't believe we are the only ones seeing this kind of
behavior.
