Word 2007. Having tabbing problems

Hello:

When I tab over more than once, instead of tabbing over .5, it tabs over
2.18 or something ccrazt like that. I just want it to tab over .5 every
time. The ruler is showing and I see two Ls on it--one at .5 and the other
at 2.18. I've tried dragging the 2.18 one off of the ruler. However,
whenever I clcik back in the document, it reappears on the ruler. How do I
make this pesky thing go away for good?

Set them in Page Layout, Paragraph dialog(little arrow in corner of
Paragraph) Tabs Button.

I didn't have to do that before. Before, when I would press the tab key, I
would move over only .5.

Then I would say some tabs were added in your template.
