Word 2007 - how do I stop files being corrupted when saving as 97-

Hi,
We're currently deploying Officee 2007 throughout our school. To ensure
compatibility with Office XP and outside users (or use at home), I have
installed the admin templates and set set the group policies to save as
earlier versions. However I'm getting a lot of students coming to me with
corrupt word files, it appears to be those that have tables or pictures in
the files. Has anyone else had this, and more importantly does anyone have a
fix? Open and repair doesn't work, it gives a corrupt file warning and
closes, however, dare I mention it... I've had success opening the corrupt
files in Openoffice!

Have you installed all the servicepacks and updates for Office 2007?

You can also advise all the 'outside' users that they can download the free
Office 2007 compatibility pack from Office 2000-2003 which will provide them
with compatibility with Office 2007 format and give them all the new fonts
too ensuring greater compatibility.
