Word 2007. How to get the TOC to include more than 3 levels

E

Elmer

I have a technical document I am putting together and need at least 4 levels.
I have used the HEADING 4 style but when I update the TOC it only shows 3
levels.

All documentation only shows 3 levels for the TOC. Are 3 levels all that
Word 2007 will accept?

In previous versions, there appeared not to be any limits on the number of
levels that Word would display in the TOC.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

When you insert a TOC, there's a spin box that allows you to choose the
number of levels you want; the default is three. After the fact, you'll
need to manually edit the TOC field to change the 3 to 4 in the "\o 1-3"
switch.
