Word 2007 - Insertion Point - NOT 500% Zoom Issue

Hi,

I have a question about the appearance of the insertion point in Word 2007
and, by corollary, Outlook 2007 emails. This is NOT the tiny insertion point
issue that zooming to 500% will solve. When I'm typing in Word and also
typing emails in Outlook, the insertion point disappears while I type. You'll
notice that when you type in, say, Internet Explorer, the insertion point
blinks when you're not typing and stays on the screen when you type. In Word
and Outlook, it blinks when you're not typing and disappears when you do
type. I do most of my typing in print layout, because I like to see what the
page looks like while I type, but I noticed that the insertion point does
stay on the screen in draft view. I could probably learn to live with draft
view in Word, but that doesn't help me in Outlook, and I don't see any
options to change the way the insertion point appears, either. Please help!
It's driving me freakin' crazy! I can't figure out how to fix this, and I
probably type about half as fast as I could if it were displaying the
insertion point the "normal" way.

Thanks in advance,

Jon
