word 2007 isn't working

When I go to write a paper it won't let me and a message at the bottom of the
screen says it is locked. How can I unlock it. I have reinstalled it and it
still happens.

If this was a trial version, it has expired. If it is a retail version,
perhaps you haven't activated it?
