Word 2007 Not working all of a sudden

No new s/w install, no new h/w install, running Vista, running Office Small
Business 2007. Word was working fine but all of a sudden it no longer will
launch consistently. When it does launch, I can type text but cannot
hi-light it, can't move my cursor with the mouse, can't adjust margins,
etc....basically can't do anything!

Hello Kathleen,

You've landed in a discussion group for users of Mac versions of Word (not
your fault: it's a charming foible of MS's "discussions" web interface,
which I see you used). Mac versions differ variously from PC versions.
Although several people here use both PCs and Macs and may give you an
answer soon, it's likely that more people in a PC group have experienced
