Word 2007 Printing Preferences Crash

When I try to change the printing preferences using Word 2007 on Vista Home
Premium laptop with 1gig RAM, printing preferences dialogue bix fades out &
word (or other office 2007 SP1 program) Windows advises it needs to close the
program due to a problem stopping it working. Same printer works absolutely
fine on desktop running XP and office 2007 SP1. The latest drivers are
installed from Xerox - printer is Phaser 8560 DN on ad-hoc network (ie
plugged into USB on PC, laptop & other PC access printer via BT Home Hub
Wireless router). Could it be an access to changing printing preferences
problem or just a bad driver? I had it working fine with Office XP & Office
trail download. Please help - this is driving me crazy!!!!!!

Try Uninstalling both the applications - Office as well as the Xerox printer software/driver & then reinstall after restarting the system. This will help to get the default & the proper settings of both the applications. Make sure you uninstall it from Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel & also ensure that those programs has no registry keys left in the registry - if present then delete it after uninstalling the programs.
