word 2007 slow opening large documents

I am running the sixty date trial of office 2007 and I am happy with it,
apart from one things.

I have a large (not huge) document with about three hundred and sixty
thousand words.
In word 2003 it opens fine but in word 2007 it takes so much longer to open.
I know this is not a fault as such I just wondered why it takes so much more
time for larger documents to open than compared to word 2003?

Is the document in the 97-2003 file format? If yes, try saving and then
opening it in the 2007 file format. Maybe that is faster?

Thanks for the reply Patrick.

Yes, the document is a word 2003 document that has a macro to take it the
last page (ALT + F1).
I tried to save it in a new format, the macro enabled one and this made no
difference.
I tried what you said and there was no difference either. Oh well unless I
find an answer I shall just have to live with it.
It is not the end of the world. It just means I will have to be a bit more
patience while the document is opening.
