Word 2007 Top bar degradation

Hi,
Following several hours of keeping a Word window open (for editing), the top
bar, above the inline menu, becomes fully transparent. Other applications'
windows remain unchanged.
Any idea how to correct this?

you have not maximized the window 100%, perhaps you drag it by mistake..and
it looks maximized but its not, and you have it in window mode

when maximized Vista darkens the upper portion to make it non transparent
(black)

to make sure press the middle of the three top right icons in the TITLE BAR
of word that says "maximize" or "restore " when you hover your mouse over
it
