word 2007 won't print

Daughter's machine using XP Home. Suddenly the word 2000 application will
not print to a canon i560, the only printer in system. It is the selected
printer. Message is "cannot print due to a problem with the current
printer".
I have reloaded the printer driver and reinstalled the word program but did
not help.
I can print a test page, I can print from a free word processor, ABI, I can
print from note pad, I can print an Excel document.
I find nothing awry with the word program.
Any ideas on this dilemma?
Thank ye all,
Seamus J. Wilson

So what happens when you use File, Print? Do you get an error message or
anything? Are you sure that the printer is set as the Windows Default
printer and that Word has the printer selected?
Does it happen for all documents or one particular document?

Thank you for the reply, Terry. Canon i560 Printer is set as default. Only
printer on system.
Word 2007 will not print any document and error messages are "cannot print
due to a problem with the current printer".
However will print Excel doc, test page, power point doc and docs from a
free word processor. There is something awry with word setup but I can't
figure it out.
Thank you,
Seamus J.

Most bizarre. I had no problem with the same printer (until it finally died
and was replaced with an ip4600) with W2007.

When you say you reinstalled the printer, did you actually delete is from
Printers and Faxes and then use Add New printer?
Under Format, Font, do you still see a complete list of fonts available?

Try using Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel, chose Office 2007 and
select the Repair option. Does that resolve the print issue?

At wits end!
All I can add is that when I print I go to options and use top Print
command. Next comes the printer page but the i560 is not present, yet the
i560 is default and indicated as such in control panel, print and fax. All
other programs will print less word 2007.
The word 2007 is part of legal student MS software package.
Best,
Seamus J.

I guess that by "options and use top Print command" you really mean Office
button>Print>Print and that it is the Print dialog that you then see. Under
the Printer section of that dialog, what appears in the Name: control. If
you click on the arrow at the right hand end of that control, what appears
in the list of printers?

Hope this helps.
