I don't understand why when I press enter at the end of a sentence some
times I'll get a blank line between the next sentence. If I press Shift +
Enter that doesn't happen. It doesn't always do this and I can't figureout
how to make it stop when it does?? I've checked my line spacing it is set
to 1.

Thoughts? I'm sure it's simple.

My guess is that your paragraph setting is set at about 12 pts. When you do
the shift+enter, you're just doing a manual line break, not starting a new
paragraph.

After much playing around (much to much) I found it. It is under the
Paragraph options and in the sub-section "Spacing" there is a check box [ ]
Don't add space between paragraphs of teh same style.

Put a check in that box and you'll get the next line just below the previous
one after pressing Enter. If you want the extra line between paragraphs...
My suggestion would be press Enter twice!
