Word 97 in Office 97

Word 97 locks up the computer at data window, the one with
licened user and serial number. Have re-instaled twice,
loaded service pack 1 & 2. Still locks up. Powerpoint
and Excel works fine. Please if any one knows of a fix
please help!!!

fix of removing Normal.dot fixed the problem.
