WORD 97 NOT VISIBLE

When I open WORD 97 it is not visible on my screen. The
bar with the file name is all I can see at the bottom of my
screen. Other than that, I just have my main desktop
wallpaper -- no file menus, no document -- nothing!

All of my other applications open (i.e. Access 97, Power
Point 97 and Excel 97 -- as well as other applications on
my PC) it's just WORD 97 that's causing me problems.

Can someone help or enlighten me????? (Please--Thanks!)

The most likely explanation is that Word is opening in a Normal window
offscreen. Right-click on the Taskbar button. If the available options
include Maximize and Minimize but not Restore, then that is the problem.
Open any other window, right-click on an empty area of the Taskbar, and
choose Cascade. This should bring the Word window back in view. Use the
mouse to move and size it as desired, then quit Word. When you restart it,
the window should be where you left it.
