Word 97 Standard Toolbar Grayed Out

Hope somebody has seen this. I have one user that has this problem.
Upon opening Word her standard toolbar is available and all the icons
work. After opening, printing, saving the toolbar becomes all grayed
out. As in completely gray, no icons even visible. The only way to
fix this is Closing out of Word and reopening. I've reinstalled Word
to no avail. I thought it might be a word macro virus, but i haven't
found anything along these lines either. Plus, i've got the toolbar
to gray out after creating multiple new documents. THANKS!

Probably just need to rename normal.dot. Read about it at

I've tried that as well. I probably will just reimage the PC and go
from there. Thanks

Your toolbars are saved in the normal.dot template. Close Word and delete
the normal.dot template.

When Word starts up again, it will recreate the template.
