Word 97 uninstall

I have MSWord 97 installed on my present computer with XP
OS and Works 2002. The 97 came from my old W98 OS
computer in the transfer of files. I would like to
uninstall it, but I gave away the original MSWord 97 disc
with the old computer, and I can't find a way to uninstall
without the disc. I don't have the original ID number,
unfortunately.
Any suggestions?

have you tried to look for the ID # in the menu bar?
you'll find it when you click on HELP, then go to ABOUT,
and it should give you the necessary information. then try
and go to SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL, ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS

Loki:
Tried what you said, but it didn't work. When I click
on "Remove" I get a message "Please insert your MS Word
CD1" When I click OK, I get a message "Set up can run
without your program's diskettes"
Another odd thing I found - I looked in Windows Explorer
under "Programs" and could not find Word 97, yet it's
listed in the "Add/Remove? window.
Any idea what's going on?
