When i click (x2) on a word 97 file to open it, word 97
partially starts then freezes. After the computer goes to
stand by, then off stand by, word 97 finishes opening and
the file also opens. Before going on stand by (while word
97 is partially opened)the computer is froze up. The only
thing I can do is restart the computer or sit and wait for
stand by. If I manually open word 97 first then click
(x2) the file, it opens normally. But I usually forget to
do this first then have to sit and wait for stand by. I
have tried uninstalling and reinstalling (with Microsoft
WoksSuite 99 disc)but the problem remains. I have also
tried the normal.dot/registry change procedure but that
didn't help either. Somebody please help!!!
