Word Add-Ins

Hi there,
today, I bought Office:mac 2008 Home Edition to get a Word 2007 Add-In up and running. Using Visual Studio 2008 under Win XP SP2, I developed a Calendar Add-In showing a Calendar Control in a Custom Task Pane. After a mouse-click on a given day the Add-In copies the selected date into the document.

I then copied the bin/release directory to my MacBookPro (Mac OS X 10.4) hoping to be able to install the Add-In using the Add... dialog box button found when opening the Word 2008 menu entry Extras. Templates and Add-Ins.
Unfortunately, the system does not even allow me to select a file.

Please help and tell me what to do to develop Add-Ins running under mac:word 2008.

Thanks for feedback,

Sorry Doug, but the news isn't what you want to hear. Anything involving VBA
is not going to work in Office 2008 apps because they do not support the
language. Even the earlier versions don't support the same level as is
currently supported in WinOffice - and Mac never has supported ActiveX.

You may be able to construct something similar using Apple Script but I
don't know enough about it to offer you more than a gentle shove in that
direction. Right now you're in an excellent position to retire very rich if
you can come up with working solutions since there are virtually no Add-in
resources available for Mac Office 2008 at this time... and IF you can come
up with something please let *us* know:)
