Word and 3.5 floppy

All of a sudden when I create a new Word document and try
to save it...it trys to access the floppy drive and it
has nothing in it. It will let me save the document,
only each time, it checks in with the floppy.

This is probably because you have tried to open or save a document to a
floppy drive (which you should NEVER do with a document) and the document
is still in your MRU cache. If you clear the cache, it should resolve the
problem.

That's the Most Recently Used File Cache as seen under the File menu. Go to
Tools, Options, General tab and set the file list to zero. Close and reopen
Word and the list should have been removed. Then do the reverse procedure to
enable the MRU again.

: Thanks for replying....what is the MRU cache and how do I
: clear it?
