Word and PowerPoint keep crashing

Anytime I close the Office 2007 Word or PowerPoint application, several pop
up messages appear, "Word is not working" "Word cannot open the file..."
"Word is trying to recover your information" and "Word is restarting". This
never happened with Office 2003. What can I do? Thanks.

same thing happens to me and i'm trying to find out how to fix it. someone
said it's because i've got antivirus software that conflicts with office, but
the office plugin in the antivirus software is disabled, so that can't be it.

I went into program control with my antivirus and checked all the access
options for Word and PPT. The problem has gone away with Word but it persists
with PPT.

yeah, i tried that too. the problem temporarily went away with Word, but
eventually came back, and it never made any difference for PPT. the check-box
for the Office plug-in was never enabled, so it shouldn't have had anything
to do with the problem anyway. i tried uninstalling and reinstalling Office,
but it still does the same thing! i'm still searching for a solution. I'll
let you know if i find one!

Do you have any "security software" that may be preventing the Office
applications from saving their settings>
