I didn't try to reproduce, but here's steps as I remember.
1. Have a large Word doc file.
2. Copy it to, say, 4 files.
3. Open all 5 files in Word and cut large portions. What I wanted to do was
to create a doc for each section. So from 1st doc, I removed all sections
but section 1. From 2nd doc, all but section 2, and so forth.
4. I don't remeber exactly but I think I saved, but kept open these
documents.
5. Go to SharePoint services site, upload, multiple files, and check all
Word doc files you have in step 4.
6. Upload.
7. Close Word, and see if you can open all these 5 files. In my case, 3 of 5
are gone. Can't open. Word says floppy drive is not ready. With recover
converter, I could get almost 1/3 of text back and lost all formatting.
Don't upload while you have your doc open in Word...
