Word art stuck behind a table!

I am trying to remove a word art graphic which seems to be embedded behind a
table in Word. If I convert table to text, I can delete the art. However,
when I "undo" to re-create the table, the graphic comes back! Someone please
help!

Display the Drawing toolbar and click on the Select Objects tool (big white
arrow at the left end). This will allow you to select the WordArt object
without touching the text.
