word as text editor

I'm using Office XP Pro and outlook keep locking up when I
use Word as my text editor. I have to go to task manager
and end task the winword.exe proccess to continue working
and sometime I have to shutdown the system to release my
memory usage. If I removed word as text editor, My
computer ran fine. This is happen to all of my computers
here. I updated office to the latest SP and it didn't
help. Please help if you have seen this problem before.

Locate normal.dot and rename it to normal.old and see if this solves the
issue. If it doesn't you can rename it back.
