word attacment is opening in background of outlook

I have installed office2003. I have also installed Sp1 and Sp2 patches . My
operating system is winsows xp sp2 . It has 1 GB RAM installed

I observe the below mentioned behavior in outlook

When I open word attachement from a mail stored in personal folder it takes
a long time to open. When it is opening it word is maximized state. After it
gets opened it gets hiidden . I have to click on the task bar to open the file

This behavior is not observed if I disconnect my LAN cable. The word
atachemnt opens normal in maximized state as usual

Sounds as if you have some macro or job performed which can not be done
without LAN due to network timeout. Maybe you could switch off the lan
and look at the event message queues for a hint!

But definitly these kind of errors are hard to find ....
