Word Cannot Open Existing File

Hey, everybody. For some reason I can't open any of the
word documents that I have saved on my PC and that are in
my inbox. I keep getting an error message like that in
my post's subject or one saying the path is not valid. I
would greatly appreciate any tip(s) that will resolve
this problem for me.

Yeah. Word is definitely on the fritz. It's used as my
e-mail editor in Outlook. I can't even compose a new
message, because everything in the toolbar is dim.
Please help me.

How are you trying to open them--from Windows Explorer (My Computer) or
through Word's File Open dialog?
