Word closes when I try to maximize a minimized Word document.

When I have more than 1 Word document minimized and they are all showing in
the bottom task bar, I go to click on one of them to maximize the document
and work on it. Unfortunately, rather than opening that one document, Word
shuts down completely. The next time I go to open Word, all my changes since
my last save are lost and it tries to recover my old files.

Any ideas of what the problem is?
