word closes when using multiple windows

Word closes without warning when switching between
various windows. The windows can be internet exploreer or
doucument folders or word docs.

You mean all windows close when you close a particular application. Have you
installed the latest updates and patches for Internet Explorer. What version
of Windows are you running, if its XP, it often groups multiple Windows of
an application you are running. If you choose the close window button it
will close all Windows, have you tried "File > Close".

Thanks for you interest in my problem.
Just all word windows, and I'm not closing anything, just
switching between windows.
Everything is fine if I stay in a document and work in it
exclusivly, its only when I'm switching between windows.
And yes i update xp and office religiously it has never
helped.
Honestly I've had this problem since day one but I was
dealing with it by saving often. but it's really
aggravating.
