Word closes

I am having problems with Word closing as soon as I open
a document or try to start a new document. It keeps
telling me, once I send the "report" that it is a printer
problem. I deleted the printer (an HP 6100) and then re-
added the network printer. This seemed to "fix" the
proble this morning but this afternoon I am back in the
same boat I was in before - oy!

Any suggestions on a fix for this?
I am using a Dell Inspiron 5100 with WinXP and the
printer is an HP 6110 that is primary to my Dell
Desktop. I am networked via Linksys.

I have updated/installed all of the updates for Office 2000 and WinXP. Because the drivers for the printer on not on the computer with WinXP there is nothing to download. I will update the Win98 based main computer and see what happens

You need to install the printer driver locally. If you're trying to operate
with a driver on the network, that is your problem.

Because the drivers for the printer on not on the computer with WinXP there
is nothing to download. I will update the Win98 based main computer and see
what happens.
