Hi,
I'm using MS Word 2000 Professional for writing my thesis. I store a
new version of my thesis on a regular basis as I know Word is
unstable. However, my file is now 170 kb and when I tried to open it
today the application crashes and the file is impossible to open. The
error message is something like "Microsoft Office has encountered a
problem and has to close". I emailed the file to a friend and he was
able to open and print it using Word XP. So I now have a backup both
in paper form and on a server on the Internet.
The question is what can I do to open the file in order to keep on
working on the thesis? Do I have to upgrade to XP? I have visited
Office update on the Internet but apparently there were no neccessary
upgrades for my Professional version.
